NVFOA − Serving
the Community
The
Northern Virginia Football Officials Association,
Inc. (NVFOA), is a non-profit organization
established to assign its members as officials and
promote the game of football at the recreation,
middle school, and high school levels throughout the
Washington Metropolitan area. Although our members
receive a fee for their services, our main function
is the training of football officials in the
implementation of the mechanics and rules of the
game as set forth by the governing bodies, including
the National Federation of State High School
Associations (NFHS). The NVFOA is a member of the Virginia
High School League, headquartered in
Charlottesville, Virginia, with reciprocity in
Maryland, Washington DC, West Virginia, and North
Carolina.
The NVFOA
is continually seeking new members to join our
organization. We seek individuals, male or female,
who have reached the age of 18 and have a desire to
be a part of the most exciting and popular
scholastic game in America. This participation can
be in the form of on-field officials or electric
clock operators. Experience is NOT a requirement. We
have a highly successful training program that
covers every aspect of the game of football. If you
have the time to commit, we have the resources to
teach and develop you as a football official.
Training information and application forms are
available here.
